Wish I could use the same button to toggle and change presets

I’ve spent a couple of hours trying to accomplish the following unsuccessfully, which would be ideal for me:

  1. Simple button press turns on/off my CB Preamp mkII & the MC6 Pro display changes accordingly (no problem doing this)
  2. The same button long press (or double tap) scrolls through 3 presets (can’t do this)

The limitation seems to be that scroll mode only works on a simple ‘release’ action and nothing else? I can get it to work perfectly if instead I do the following:

  1. A long press turns on/off my CB Preamp mkII and MC6 Pro displays accordingly
  2. The same button simple press (release actually) scrolls through 3 presets

So it works, but it’s backwards from the ideal of having all my pedals turned on/off with a simple press. Is there a way to make scroll mode work with ‘long press release’ or ‘double tap release’ or am I missing something here. Below is a screenshot of how I got it to work the 2nd way.

Hi,
the issue is that message scroll only works on release. A press action will also trigger a release action. There is no way for the controller to decide if you want to toggle the preset or if you want to increment the message scroll if you use press/release actions only.
However, if you disable toggle mode and use a toggle preset message in position 1 to toggle the preset and if you set your message scroll messages to positon 2, it would be possible to engage the preset with a simple press and scroll through the messages with release only if the preset is in pos 2.
The caveat is that you’d still need a long press to disengage the preset.

Ok understood, scroll mode only works on basic ‘release’. If scroll mode would be made to work on other things as well such as ‘long press’ or ‘double tap’ (or the release versions of these) it would allow the more natural combination I was trying to achieve above.

By the way, as I am still new to Morningstar, I am blown away buy the capability of these devices!

Might be better to use a counter instead. You can set the range of counter and then assign it to the long press, so that it cycles through the 3 presets you want (this would require that these 3 presets are in sequential order in your controller, you won’t be able to select presets scattered around using a counter).
