Hi Everyone, I want to use the MC3 to trigger preset changes and start/stop the sequencer/arp on my Modal Cobalt 8. It looks like Message Scroll + Utility might be the way to go. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Are you using Message Scroll because you’re trying to trigger a bunch of preset changes in order? You may want to check our editor’s demo mode ( go to https://editor.morningstar.io and choose the demo mode at the bottom) to see if all the functionality you need is there.
Message Scroll can be set up to send multiple messages at a time, though note that the MC3 has a 16 message limit per switch as opposed to the 32 message limit of the pro line.

Yes, I want to trigger the Cobalt 8 using the MC3 in order to playback sequences that are associated with specific presets during a live performance. Each song in the setlist might, for example, use a different preset sound and pre-recorded sequence saved with that preset.
That suggests to me that I need to send a PC message followed by a Real Time start message for each song - hence the need to be able to scroll (I think!).
Please tell me, do I need a separate message for PC program change, start sequencer and stop sequencer? So three separate messages and corresponding actions?

Each switch can be triggered by one or more actions, and can also be set in two different states. I’d probably have one switch that swapped between start and stop, and use the other switches for selecting or moving between presets.
