I’m using my MC6 Pro to control a Roland D-05 synth. I use it to swell in and out a chord with two engines, and if I connect the MC6 to the D-05 over the DIN5 connection it works perfectly.
However, if I connect via USB, the chord plays instantly, as if the waveform generator CC’s are not being sent.
At this stage I am uncertain whether it is the MC6 or the D-05 that is the issue, But the Roland is accepting CC over USB as I can do a patch selection.
Has anybody had success with waveform generators over USB?
I’ve looked into this some more and am now convinced that the MC6 Pro is the culprit.
While having nothing that can display what data is sent over the USB Host port, I do have an old M-Audio USB to DIN5 converter cable. This has lights which flash when there is activity on MIDI in and out.
I changed my preset to only start the waveform generator and no light is flashing on the M-Audio. However, when I set my preset to also send a CC on the same channel, the light does flash. This indicates to me that waveform data is not being sent over USB Host.
It’s not a big deal as it works fine over DIN5, meaning I must use two cables rather than one, but it would be great if someone could look into this.
