Hello there! I am having an issue using my expression pedal with the MC6 Pro and the Hx Stomp together. I want the expression value to remain consistent based on the positioning of the expression pedal between presets on the HX Stomp. I tried setting up a CC message and using the Use Value from Expression setting to try and get that to work however when I switch between presets the expression pedal resets back to zero as if in a heel down position. I then have to move the pedal slightly to in order to get volume again. How can I set up my expression pedal in a way so that when switching between my presets the volume is reflected by the expression pedal physical position and doesn’t reset to zero every time? For context, I have my expression calibrated and configured on Omniport 1 but I have tried the other ports and the issue remains.
Try setting the “EXP Position” parameter at “Global Settings>EXP Pedals” on your HX Stomp to “Global.” That way, parameters controlled by expression position always mirror the actual expression value and don’t load up the preset’s default value.
I double checked and both settings for EXP1 and EXP2 are set to global. I had made sure of that before hand. Right now the only work around is plugging my expression pedal directly into the HX Stomp but in doing so I am unable to control anything else. I have the Nano Cortex running into the effects loop of the HX Stomp for amp sims only but there are some parameters on the nano cortex I would like to control through the MX6 Pro expression as well. Can’t do it with this work around. I was also planning on expanding more switches but now that the HX Stomps expression input is being used as a work around I can’t do that either

I think this is the underlying issue. That’s not expected behaviour.
Do you change the expression preset when switching presets?
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure but I don’t think that I do. I’ve tried saving the preset with the expression pedal in different positions but it always just reverts back to zero.
I have yet to solve this issue. Any insights?
I tried to replicate this with my MC6 Pro and I’m not having much luck getting it to output a 0 unless I’m actually in the heel position. I’ve tried jumping between banks that have different expression messages programmed, using “select exp message” to force different combinations or to turn expression messages off.
According to MIDI Monitor, no 0 values are coming out of the MC6 Pro unless I’m actually in heel position. Could you check to see if that’s the case with you? Because if you get the results I do, then I don’t think it’s the Morningstar controller that’s sending the reset message, but the HX itself.
Semi-related question: are your preset changes on the HX Stomp and the MC6 Pro synchronized, i.e. when the HX Stomp is on Preset 12, the MC6 is also on Preset 12?
