This is a “how to”/tutorial post; not a question.
I’ve got a new MC3 – primarily to use as a footswitch for my Chase Bliss Blooper. (I have an MC6 Pro that I want to keep on my desk, along with the Blooper itself.)
This Morningstar video shows how to configure any Morningstar MIDI controller to control a “generic” one-button looper, but I wanted to have buttons A and B on the MC3 replicate the functions of Blooper’s two buttons. The video gets the left button’s functions, but it took me a while to get the right button’s functions as well. So I thought I’d share.
(Note: the video also “adds” a long-press function that’s essentially a “start over” function, which is really nice. But that doesn’t help if you just want to pause Blooper’s loops, as you can do with Blooper’s right button.)
Here are the settings I’ve used:
Note:
- The settings I list at the top of the figure above (for “Rec/Play, Overdub (Button A)”) are straight from the Morningstar video. (Which goes by a bit quickly, BTW!)
- I’ve added a one-button erase (via a long press on Button B), which on Blooper you do by simultaneously pressing both buttons.
- In the settings above, I’m using presses of Button B to control Button A’s state to match the way Blooper works.
Hope this helps someone.
