USB, WIDI uHost, MIDI clock issue

I’m stumped on this. My goal: send MIDI tempo wirelessly to the MC6Pro, and then downstream to other devices. If I connect the WIDI uHost to the Host port, I’m able to use the editor, etc… But tempo is not transmitted (for clarity, I’m connecting to the uHost from a MacBook Air, and sending tempo from Playback). However, if I connect the uHost to the Device port, the Mc6 receives tempo (I can’t use editor though due to the high speed port), and it sends it to the other devices. However, one of my devices, an Eventide H90, never gets a solid tempo (or doesn’t process it correctly). For example, if I send 120 BPM, the tempo on the H90 jumps anywhere from 90 - 135. I have MIDI tx disabled on ALL devices. The H90 is connected to the Device USB port (USB C to USB C). I’ve also toggled the MIDI Clock Persist on the MC6, but it makes no difference. Open to ideas here…

I think we may not have documented this anywhere, but currently the USB Host port does not process incoming MIDI clock as we can’t calculate a stable timing.

BUT, we have made progress regarding this. I’ll share the beta firmware link later today.

Regarding receiving MIDI clock on the UBS device port, is it only the H90 not getting a consistent tempo, and the rest of your devices (what are they?) are ok? What is the MIDI signal chain here like?

Thx James. I don’t think that restriction is documented anywhere as I’ve read through all the documentation many times.

Regarding the MIDI chain, ideally I will have the H90 connected via USB to the Host port (if the MIDI clock is indeed processed here, I’ll use a USC C hub and connect the uHost as well). The only other time based devices connected are 1) HX Stomp via DIN, and 2) El Cap via TRS. These both receive consistent tempos. The H90 is the only device that’s NOT consistent (but again, I’ve only been able to connect the tempo via the Device port). If I set the tempo on the Mc6 though (via tap on the device, etc…), the tempo is consistent to the H90, so it appears to be a uHost/USB issue? Unfortunately I can’t connect to the Mc6 while I’m sending tempo so I can monitor the MIDI message.

I just noticed the new FW you posted last night. I’ll update and see if this resolves my issues.
