USB Host Bos -vs USB "C" O.T.G Cable .... quick question?

Just curious.

I run my MC6 with a “proper” USB Host Box [Doremidi UMH-21].

I was wondering … instead of using this dedicated USB Host Box … can I instead use a USB C O.T.G Cable and the simply connect Midi to it and the USB C to the device and if so, will the MC6 send Midi messages that way -or- must it have a full / proper USB Host Box ?

That’s not possible. The role of a USB Host is to provide power as well, among other things. A cable to connect 2 USB devices together will not work
