More and more pedals come with USB-C ports. And some of them are controllable via MIDI. That’s awesome, but they don’t have a MIDI out/thru typically.
MIDI Controllers like the MC6 Pro typically only have one USB out port. Which means they can only control one at a time.
To solve that problem, a USB-C hub would seem like a logical choice to me. Does anyone have any suggestions / ideas on that topic?
Yes, you can use a USB Hub on the USB Host port to connect up to 4 USB MIDI devices. We cannot confirm if your USB HUB model will work, but generally it needs to be USB only (i.e. no other functions like HDMI, SD Card etc). We use USB Hubs from uGreen in our tests.
Hello,
I’m currently facing an issue when trying to connect 4 UAFX pedals through an USB Hub.
Everything works fine if I connect directly one of the UAFX pedals with the MC8 Pro, but as soon I connect the hub between the pedal and the MC8 Pro, it doesn’t work.
I tried with 2 different UGreen USB-C Hub models, no clue
Is there anything that I am missing ?
Thanks
We just tried a cheaper UGREEN USB hub to connect 2 UAFX devices and it works. I suspect it is the USB 3.2 capabilities of those USB hubs that is causing it not to work.
The USB host port on the MC supports up to USB High speed (USB 2.0)
I finally figured it out, the USBC hub were somehow underpowered because the MC8 Pro were connected to my computer through the USB Device Port.
It works fine when the MC8 Pro is powered by the 9V Port OR USB Device Port with a good PowerSupply
The 2 UGREEN hub provided on my other post works fine !
Thank you for the support
