Upgrade from 3.11 - 3.13 - Either editor will not connect via Widi, also MacOs app won't connect via usb-c direct

Upgraded my MC6 Pro from firmware 3.11 to 3.13.
After update failed to connect via Widi, next I updated Widi firmware still was not working.
MacOS 15.4 Midi Studio indicates Widi Device is on-line
The browser editor log looks good, but what I know:

The MacOS editor app just shows a white screen.

Just tested this (MC6 PRO with WIDI Jack) and can confirm that it is working.

Which v3.13 firmware did you update to? The current latest firmware is v3.13.3. There was an issue using the WIDI Jack in the older v3.13.1 and v3.13.2 firmwares.

Also, just check that the WIDI Jack is connected correctly to the input and outputs and set to the correct Type A / Type B setting.

For the MacOS Editor, are you referring to the desktop editor? I just tested it and works fine - do you have an internet connection in the computer you are running it? Can you go to View >> Toggle Developer Tools and share a screenshot of the console tab?

  • 3.13.3 - yes
  • Widi cables are cme type b cable that came with the widi and not changed during firmware update
  • Widi cable input/out are correct not changed as part of firmware update
  • updated restarted chrome
  • latest MacOS
  • yes I have 1gb internet that’s what I am using to type this
  • yes restarted computer
  • yes restart MC6 Pro
What do the editor logs mean? They look good?
Here’s a video link to the issue

Hello anyone home?
No response to the video?

Video doesn’t show much, seems like its a hardware-related problem instead.

  1. When you click on Connect, does the WIDI Jack LED blink to show that it received MIDI data? Does the MC show “In Edit Mode” when that happens? This will show whether the WIDI Jack is passing MIDI data to the MC.

If you have an app that can send MIDI, you can try using that to send PC messages to the WIDI Jack and see if the MC changes banks. You can also try using this to send: https://midi-control.morningstar.io/web-midi-controller

  1. Can you open a MIDI monitor app (or www.midimonitor.com) and then see if you get anything when you trigger send a MIDI message from the MC? This will tell whether the connection between the MC6 PRO MIDI OUTPUT and WIDI Jack is wokring.

Thank you, I’ll try those suggestions!

I decided to downgrade the firmware to 3.11 and that worked with the old web editor.
Then I decided to upgrade to 3.13 and that worked with the new web editor :person_facepalming:

Seems to be work now!

Thanks for your patience and help
