Through some trial and error, I’ve been able to streamline my editing workflow to the following:
- I connect my laptop wirelessly to my MC6 Pro via a CME widi jack dongle
- My ML10x is connected via usb midi to the host port on my MC6 Pro (i note that this is “not recommended” - is there anything wrong with this other than the risk of ground loops? I do not have noise issues with my configuration).
- My midi thru settings allow for communication between the host port and the widi jack
This means that I can wirelessly connect to the ML10x via the widi jack, and program loop presets.
This is great, but it could be better:
- I cannot have an active conection to the MC6 Pro and the ML10x at the same time (wirelessly). I need to disconnect from the MC6 before connecting to the ML10x and vice versa.
- Sometimes, it just locks up facilitating normally a full reboot of both the MC6 Pro and ML10x.
So I guess what I am wondering is how feasible it would be to unify the device editors? In situations where the ML10x is being controlled from an MC* using sysex messages, and if i can (somewhat) reliably accomplish this using the above set up, it feels as though this shouldn’t be impossible, but I guess maybe it would be very difficult?
