UAFX midi 2.0 & CME H12 Midi Pro

Hey @james

Would the newly announced, “CME H12MIDI Pro, USB Host MIDI interface” allow a MC8 Pro user to control 6 UAFX pedals? Via USB A/B?

The MC8 Pro host port limits us to controlling 4 UAFX pedals.

Or could they be combined together to control 10 UAFX pedals?

Or is there a limitation that would prevent that?

(I don’t expect to control 10 UAFX pedals, I’m just curious about the limitations involving the midi technology they use… not sure what to call it).

Yes, currently in code it is limited to 4 connected devices. We can increase it but we are also weary about the memory usage so more tests needs to be done.

I can’t speak for the H12MIDI Pro but seems like it might work? I’m not certain what the below means but sounds like it has 6 ports that accepts up to 16 MIDI ports each.

So you can just use the H12MIDI Pro as a “USB Host MIDI Splitter” of sorts

Ok I think we can do this i.e. increase the number of USB Host devices. Do you have > 4 UA devices that you want to try to control now? I can share a firmware with the increased limit.

Hi James,

I currently only have three UAFX devices. I was waiting to buy more.

Best,
Frederick

Hi James:

I have 6 UAFX pedals and would like to do MIDI through USB C out to a powered 7 port USB-C hub. Is that firmware still an option? I also purchased CME H12 MIDI PRO and a bunch of USB-A-USB-C cables just in case need to go that route instead (assuming that would work). Thanks in advance

Good day gentlemen. I am working on hooking up an MC8 Pro to 6 UAFX pedals, a Boss RC5 looper and a Line 6 HX One. I did not realize that there was a limitation on the number of UAFX pedals that could be utilized. How do I go about getting that number increased? Thanks in advance!
