Hello, all! I’m attempting to use the Waveform Generators of an MC3 on the Mix knob of a Mood (I think I could also do it on a Blooper) to see if I can make a passable tremolo effect.
I basically followed the YT video on Waveform Generators to a T, including entering in a command to follow the MIDI Clock. I used CC 15 on the Mood, which is supposedly Mix.
And now…nothing. Am I trying to do something complicated or impossible? I’m a MIDI noob so there may well be something I’m missing, but don’t know what…
I would try using a different preset entirely to set the clock, so that you can be sure it’s working properly before you initiate the LFO. If that resolves the problem, then we can consider how best to incorporate that into your desired performance sequence.
worked well for me to include the clock tapping at the beginning of the very 1st preset. (Also at the end of the preset add a message with a long press action to stop the engine, if that seems suitable for your needs)
Are you by any chance sending CC100 expression values to the mood at the same time as the waveform generator is running?
With my Preamp MKII and the cxm1978 I found that those pedals do not take CC100 for expression and other CC messages at the same time. Using CC100 seems to make the pedal ignore the CC messages from the waveform engines. With the cxm1978 for example I have to send a EOM unlock message (EOM = expression over MIDI) everytime I wanna change from CC100 to have the cxm receive the waveform engine CCs.
