Hi, I don’t know anything about your looper, but judging by your screenshot I think you need to swap the CC values of your messages. Value 127 should be in message 1 (set to pos1) and value 0 should be in message 2 (set to pos2).
A preset is in position 1 by default. If you want to switch something on with your first press (usually done with a cc value of 127) you have to set the message that sends the ‘on command’ to position1.
Read: “if the preset is in position 1” send x.
Please help any idea @james ?
I have already reversed the messages as suggested above but the result is the same, I have to press twice to activate or deactivate, instead of only once.
Ive never used the tone master before but from your description, it sounds like it is responding either:
so you just need to program your preset accordingly.
I hope that makes sense ?
Sorry James I am lost.
The tone Master in its manual mentions that to activate the reverse I need the CC 108 with value 64-127 to activate it and the CC 108 with value 0-63.
So if I set the preset A of the MC6 pro with only the message CC108 value 127 it is activated at the first touch. In the same way I configure preset B to turn it off and everything is fine.
But I don’t want that, I want to do it with the same preset A, using the “toggle mode on” function.
Everything is configured as I understand it to work.
But the problem is that it doesn’t work at the first touch, I have to press twice, I don’t know if I made myself clear.
ok I misunderstood. So it just sounds like something really simple. Did you check the MIDI monitor to see if the messages are getting sent as you expected? You mentioned that it works as expected if you program 2 separate presets to send the individual messages. the solution might be as simple as swapping the positions of the messages
Does that mean you’ve programmed preset B with a CC value of 127? If that’s the case you should only send a value of 127 in both positions.
A quick look at the manual implies that the settings of your last screenshot are correct, though. Cc 108 value 0-63 toggles the looper fwd and value 64-127 toggles the looper to reverse. It should be working. What happens if you press the footswitch more than twice? Do you need two presses to deactivate the reverse playback, too?
What if you’d set the position of both messages to ‘both’? This would be the equivalent of pressing twice with a single press.
If it isn’t working try to add a delay between messages.
Still, I can’t see a reason why your preset isn’t working.
I don’t understand why it doesn’t work either! I will do more tests later, using another bank and presets, using midi cable, currently I use a widi master, but I don’t think that’s the problem.
I have configured the preset change, and the other parameters of the Tone Master pro looper but the ones I can’t get to work properly are the ones in red, reverse/fwd and 1/2/full.
I did the test you mention both in both position and suddenly it works at the first touch and suddenly not again…
At one point I set both presets (reverse and 1/2) respectively to both and it was crazy, preset A interfered with preset B another thing I don’t understand why haha.
Later I will do the tests and record video to see if it is clearer what happens, but in short I do not understand the error, in theory everything is configured correctly, it is something very simple and basic do not you think?
At first glance it should be.
Could be something like the quirk some boss pedals have. You have to always send a 0 and a 127 together to toggle some functions.
What if you send first 0 followed by 127 to toggle the function on and a 127 followed by 0 to toggle it off?
Ok good idea, I will do that test later I will report back with the results.
