I wish to use the same toggle between distortion and solo/boost. I think I want it set up that distortion is one one loop and distortion+effects is on another loop. Can one toggle be used to go between two loops?
The only other thing I could do is set it up with the toggle triggering bypass on the effects (TC Electronics Plethora X3) but I think the latency of the switch will be too much.
Could you rephrase your question? Iâm not quite sure what the issue is. Which loop switcher are you using? I canât see why it shouldnât be possible to set up a preset to toggle two loops simultaneously on a midi switcher. On top of that it would be possible to switch presets of other midi capable pedals at the same time. Thatâs kind of the point of the whole midi controller thing
I would like to be able to switch between two loops by pressing the same switch. so the toggle would need to be set to go back and forth between the two loops. I have an ML5. Thanks
Easiest way would be to program two presets on the ML5 (use the learn button and then send a PC# of your choice) Then in the Morningstar editor youâll want to turn Toggle Mode on for the preset your trying to control. First line, set a Release to send the first of your PC#s to the correct Midi Channel your ML5 is on. Now to the right youâll want to click âPos: Bothâ until its âPos: 1â. Now repeat for the second line using the other PC# and switch to âPos: 2â. This will call up the preset for one pedal on the first click then the second pedal on the second click.
Short Name will show until you press the switch and then Toggle Name will show going back to Short Name when you click again. If you want that first pedal engaged from the start you can add an âOn Enterâ message in the Bank Settings to send that first PC# so when you first enter that bank youâll already be set. Otherwise you may have to toggle the switch twice depending on your expected use (without the âOn Enterâ clicking once will engage the Solo loop and clicking again will put you at your starting sound in my example picture)
Alternatively you could send the specific CC#s for the ML5 to toggle on and off each specific loop but that might mean a lot more planning and configuring depending on how youâre running your whole rig.
So now I have a new problem. I have the three bottom switches⌠A, B, and C, programmed the same way so that I can toggle back and forth between distortion and solo (with the solo I activate my Plethora X3 with compression and tap delay).
Everything works as it should except that when I click from one switch to the other it selects the solo first. When moving from a switch, I need the switch I select to simply select the Position 1 loop, and then I would select it again to select the Position 2 loop. But when I select it, it selects the position 1 instead. Is there any way I can go from one switch to the other without it selecting Position 2 first?
Ok, thatâs confusing.
Let me try to recap.
You have set up your bottom switches to toggle between a rythm and a solo sound. All of the switches do exactly the same thing and you want them to stay in sync. If you hit switch A for a solo you want to be able to go back to rythm by pressing B or C and vice versa.
Is this what you want?
If so, there is a feature called âtoggle groupâ . You can add presets to groups to keep them in sync.
yes, thatâs exactly what I want. Sorry for the confusion. I started educating myself on toggle groups yesterday but didnât want to go down that rabbit hole if I didnât have to. Iâll research further. Anything I should consider when using toggle groups?
