So I’m working on a setup right now for a friends new project. General board is:
TX Interfacer > HX Stomp
HX Stomp loop 1 > ML5 (with drives)
HX Stomp loop 2 > OBNE Dark Star
HX Stomp > Volante > Polymoon>Mercury7>Generation Loss MKII> TX Interfacer
(I’m not using the drives in the ML5 right now because I need to rewire with some different cables - some bad connections there)
Since my ML5 and drives aren’t working right now, I’m running all my drives and amps from the HX Stomp.
Because we’re trying to figure out the vibes and structures of the songs, I wanted to create something more flexible than just presets for Verse, Chorus, Solo, etc.
The general idea would be I have:
3 gain stages: Low, Mid, High - engaging one would disengage the other
A lead boost (adds 3db boost + short delay from volante + small plate from M7) - on off, regardless of gain stage
and a handful of delay/reverb/mod settings that can be turned on and off regardless of the gain stage
Beyond that I’d love to have a second page where I can toggle individual effects on and off, so when I turn on low gain, for example, I can see that it’s engaging the Timmy on page two.
I’ve played around with a bunch of options but struggling to find something that feels the most flexible.
I like the idea of using Set Toggle, but for my gain stages I really don’t have a logical disengage state. All of them need an active amp model - using a JTM45 for cleans and BE-100 for gain.
I’ve thought about having the Low Gain be the first position and then the mid gain as the second (where I stack an ODR>Timmmy), but then I can’t really use the set toggle for the high gain (Friedman BE-100 model) to dis-engage the low gain.
I had tried this before without set toggle, and just make the cc calls, but then I cant see the state of the individual pedals on the second page.
Any suggestions on the best way of implementing this?
