Swap bank not holding correct engage preset on bank enter

I keep my banks in alphabetical order. When adding banks it takes a pile of copy and swap to maintain alphabetic order. I use the custom banks setting to loop thru last bank to 1st bank and the following glitch makes me not trust alphabetical order in custom banks only.

Note I use 4 buttons on a custom remote fob to navigate thru banks. I have bank up, bank down, bank one and a bank halfway thru the total. Right now I have 30 banks so halfway is 16.

My preset A in every bank is to start midi clock except for 2 banks where I stop midi clock on bank enter.

In every bank, on bank enter I have engage preset A.

If I reorganize using copy swap the bank enter message to engage preset A will show up for another bank A. After bank swaps I have to go through and reset almost every bank enter engage preset A to the current bank.

If I don’t make sure every bank is engaging it’s own preset A then starting and stopping midi clock and bank enter gets glitchy. It’ll reverse start and stop message.

When all bank have its own preset A engaged on bank enter, I get zero start stop midi clock glitches.

Hope I explained correct.

I think I’m one or two updates out. Maybe that’ll fix it.

I’m not sure if I understood this correctly, so just clarifying: Are you expecting the Bank Number parameter in the Engage Preset to change when you swap banks?

i.e. when you swap bank 1 and bank 2 in the above screenshot, you want the Bank Number to change to Bank 2?

If that’s the case then no, the parameters do not change when you swap banks. You should use the “Current Bank” settings for this if you just want to engage presets in the same bank.

James,

Thanks. You did understand correctly. Sorry for my poor explanation maybe because of my oversight of not seeing the “current bank” option. Not the 1st time I’ve missed something right at the top making it to easy to find.

Makes perfect sense to me now why this setting would appear to jump on me.

Solved.
