I am using the Conduit in conjunction with my Morningstar MC8 midi controller.
The controller only sends MIDI OUT from Din5 socket
(No MIDI IN is used)
I am trying to implement MIDI Clock on my (Large) board.
When I send a MIDI Clock BPM command to my pedalboard - using a press action on the MC8 switch-
The Conduit box LED’s all turn green - but remain lit all of the time.
When I change to another MC8 Bank - the LED’s go out.
Is this the normal behaviour ?
I don’t think I have a MIDI LOOP - it’s the last MIDI pedal on my board - it sends out to four Strymon Pedals - with no midi return…..
Do I have to send MIDI CLOCK OFF message after setting BPM?
I’ve not used the conduit before but it sounds normal. I am assuming the LEDs turn green when a MIDI message is received by the conduit. MIDI clock is a stream of MIDI messages, so the LEDs remain green (because MIDI messages are being received and passed through).
If you have MIDI Clock Persist turned off on the MC8, then MIDI clock will stop generating when you execute an action on the MC8 (i.e. like changing banks, in your example). If you turn on MIDI Clock persist then MIDI clock will continue to be generated until you execute another preset to explicitly stop MIDI clock.
Closing the loop three weeks later - I use a Conduit with my MC6Pro and all Conduit LEDs appear lit while MIDI clock is sent. I think they may be flickering in sync with the clock, but at 120 bpm, they seem nearly always on…but that visual is indeed normal.
