Start up Problems

Hi, i am having issues with my mc8pro. on start up it keeps cycling through the start up screen repeatedly. the only way stop it and get it to finish start up is to plug in usb to either host or device port.

Is this a brand-new device or have you been using it for a while? I ask this because cycling like this is often indicative of a programming issue, usually with nested presets.

See here:

Ive had i for a few months. Seems to be working now. not sure what happened.

Could also be a power issue. Many devices draw more energy at startup as they’re trying to quickly set up everything. My H90 used to do this constantly until I switched to a higher capacity power supply.

This roboot loop seems to keep happening. any time i do reprogramming of presets this seems to happen.

also have an issue with a high pitch ring sound with chase bliss onward plugged into any omni port

If it powers on fine with USB power but not with 9v power then likely it is insufficient current on 9v. Can you let me know what power source you are using with the MC?

Regarding the high pitch ring, likely a ground loop. Chase Bliss pedals do not have isolated in their MIDI inputs.

I’m using a strymon numa and ojai. the reboot loop hasn’t happened in a couple days now.
i should have mentioned about the high pitch ring. it only happens when I’m plugged in to my computer via usb. if i remove the midi trs cable from the onward it goes away. Is there anything that i can do about this.

Thanks

Typically, pedals with MIDI should have opto-isolation to prevent ground loops, but Chase Bliss skips it for the expression feature on their TRS port. If you’re getting ground loops on Chase Bliss MIDI, try using their MIDI Box.
