SOLVED: As with so many other things, user error is the culprit. I redid my board about a month ago and figured out that the names of some of my loops were still incorrectly labeled in the editor - including the RC-5. So everything I did led to a result that didn’t match what was expected and made me feel crazy. All good now. Leaving this up as a “cautionary tale”.
Stuck on something that seems super basic and looking for help.
I want to create a simple preset that has a looper (RC-5) second in chain. Again, very basic I know. Yet it is not working and I do not know why. I am using the ML10x w/ an MC6pro.
Troubleshooting, here’s the “good”:
- I have a preset toggle on the MC6pro to engage the preset “in question”. When I do, the preset changes on the ML10x to display the correct preset that shows the correct chain order.
- ALL of the pedals themselves are working thru the ML10x. I have foot switches for stomp box/toggle mode in a bank on the MC6 and when I engage any of them individually the pedals themselves all work as expected on their own.
Yet despite the above: if I engage the preset and create a simple loop I’d expect pedals “down chain” to impact the audio of the loop itself since the ML10x shows that the RC-5 is second in the chain - but most do not.
Again, all of the pedals themselves function properly on their own with the ML10x, but 2/3rds of my board have no impact on the loop when the preset in question is active. I have been scratching my head for a day on this.
Anyone run into this and have an idea? Or perhaps James?
I feel silly asking about such basic functionality but I haven’t been able to figure this out.
The ONE hypothesis I have…despite what the ML10x preset display says, the unit itself is somehow “stuck” on an old preset (a bug perhaps). The reason: for reasons I haven’t been able to diagnose there are three loops/pedals that DO work as expected when I engage them - a mood, thermae and walrus sloer (i.e. when I engage the Thermae the loop starts pitch shifting, etc).
Going back in my memory banks I THINK these three correspond to an old chain order/preset I had a very long time ago where the looper was right before these three pedals. That preset doesn’t even exist anymore in my editor.
