Sending MIDI from MC6 PRO TRS out to two devices via y-splitter?

Has anybody tried using a stereo y-splitter cable (like this for example) to send MIDI from the MC6 Pro’s TRS out to two MIDI devices? If so, how did it work out?

Never tried to, but if the recieving device inputs are of the same type it might work. You’d get halve the usual voltage, since it’s a parallel connection. If the reciever can manage that it might work. But you’ll run probably into issues with groundloops. I wouldn’t recommend it. Just my two cents. I’ve seen people on reddit doing it though.
I’m curious now, maybe someone more knowledgable like @james can give a profound advice?

Yea, I read more into it. It seems the consensus is: It can work, but it’s not reliable so might leave you high and dry on stage when conditions are unfavourable.

Why not use two omniports as midi out?

Because they are all occupied.

Honestly you might be better suited getting an “extension” to your MC6 Pro like the Strymon Conduit since your Omniports are all occupied. Yeah, a single TRS to 2 TRS cable is significantly cheaper than an additional $150 unit that also requires power, but @GuitarWolf is on the money with some of the risks you’d face by using it. That said, you could always try it to see if it gives you the results you need.

Yea, I let go of that idea as soon as I understood how unreliable it would be.
