I am relatively new to this midi game and obviously rolled into it to change settings on my effect pedals, and change orders and such. But I was wondering about other applications, like controlling a tablet to change page, or scroll down in a music score. Could be with a dedicated app, guitar pro maybe, or just pdf.
Would be amazing if you jump to the dedicated song bank, it also jumps to the right music score.
I googled around a bit but couldn’t really find it. Is this possible? Anyone doing this?
The iRig Blueboard uses cc#20,21,22,23 and controls iPad with Setlist maker and Onsong apps.
There are youtube videos showing how it’s done. For example: send cc#20 with a value of 127 on press and cc# 20 with a value of 0 on release. It is on channel 1. The bottom of Page 11 in the Blueboard manual lists the messages sent. Morningstar would have no problem doing this.
Thanks for your reply. That looks pretty nice. Would it be possible to send a midi message directly from an mc6pro to an android tablet? Maybe via the usb-c cable?
I’m not certain but it seems possible. I know that Bluetooth works as well as a camera usb adapter on an ipad. I’m not an Android user, therefore, ignorant as to the workings.
I do the reverse, actually. Maybe something consider:
I have an iPad connected to my looper (Boss RC600) via USB/B-to-Lightning cable, with an MC8 connected to the looper via 5-pin MIDI. Program changes are sent from my lyric app so when I punch up a song, the looper changes to the proper memory slot and the MC8 hits the corresponding bank.
Not exactly the same as your setup, however consider working this in reverse if you have troubles getting the tablet to respond to MIDI; it might be better at sending it instead
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Does sound interesting indeed. I ll try both set ups once my switcher arrives. For the app I chose mobile sheets. Will report back once I got some hands on experience.
In my opinion, IanEric is right. It’s more consistent in that way.
I use MobileSheet to talk to MC8. And MC8 sends program changes to Kemper, BeatBuddy, Looper and Vocalist for each song. It works perfectly. This does not prevent keeping a preset on the MC8 to turn the pages of MobileSheet.
