Scroll Counter with related Preset Names

Hi - I’m running 3.9.7 on a MC3 and using the scroll counter to scroll through presets on a couple of pedals which is great.

The only downside is I have a hard time remembering what all of the preset numbers (shown on the MC3) actually are. It would be great if there was a table you could enter the preset name for each scroll counter number so the controller could show each preset name.

This would be particularly great on the upcoming MC6x with it’s improved screen!

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I’d like to second this request! My ideal implementation would be to have a table of text entries for each of the 128 counter values, and then use a placeholder (%H perhaps?) to be able to insert it into labels as needed.

I’m using the MC6 Pro, so giving each text entry 16 characters, for example, would require 2kb of storage per counter, or 32kb total (16 counters). I don’t know what these devices’ hardware looks like so maybe that much additional storage isn’t even feasible, but it’d be such a huge help to my workflow if possible!

I would LOVE this feature. I just recently picked up the MC6 pro and it would be awesome to set a background color/text/name for each counter. I could scroll through 4-5 presets on a strymon flint v2 with one button and have the preset name come up. Very helpful for pedals without a screen.

Is there any update or feedback on this request? I just got an MC6 Pro, and I have a few Chase Bliss pedals without any display. It would be so awesome to manage and display preset names on the MC6 Pro!

Bumping this again.

@james It would be great to geat an answer on this topic. If I got it right, this won’t be possible on MC6 Pro because of memory limits?

If so, will it be possible on MC8 Pro? This alone would be a reason for me to upgrade.

Me too, this would be great in combination with pedals without a screen.

I almost started a post when I came across this one. It’s like AI can read minds :joy:. With my Walrus Audio M1 there are a multitude of presets, and no screen on the pedal. It would actually be very useful to be able to give a name instead of a counter number. In fact it’s great to be able to scroll through different presets but honestly it would be wonderful to be able to name things. I use several choruses, several tremolos with different speeds and being able to give additional information, name, speed, type of effect or whatever, instead of a counter number would make things much more practical. @james?
