Hi,
Just installed 3.12.6 on MC6MKii after getting the prompt in the editor.
Expression pedal used to work perfectly, now all the expression sensitivity is right near the toe end, with nothing registered for most of the sweep.
Have recalibrated and and tried different sensitivity settings but it’s still the same.
Any ideas? Very frustratng as it was flawless before but new firmware seems to have broken it.
Thanks,
A
I just re-tested this and did not see any issues.
After updating the firmware, you’ll need to recalibrate the expression pedal. Can you let me know what values you are getting for the Heel and Toe down during calibration? During calibration, be sure to select Voltage Divider at the start. The new Rheostat setting is for Line6-style expression pedals.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Heel down I get about 1020, toe down about 107.
It still doesn’t regester anything until right at the end of the sweep.
Was perfect before but it’s virtually unuseable now.
I tried with various expression pedals, the Lehele one was terrible, but the Dunlop was was fine until the FW broke it.
Don’t really want to have to roll back FW, but any way I can go back?
Cheers.
Thanks for the info. What dunlop pedal are you using? Is it the Dunlop Mini? If so, the heel down value should be (closer to) 0 while the toe down should be the higher value. Can you try a different TRS cable and see if you face the same behaviour? I just tested this again and can confirm that it works correctly.
If you think there might be an issue with the Omniport, you can try a different port and see if you experience the same behaviour.
You can download the previous firmware. Instructions here: How to find the download link for the previous or beta firmwares | Morningstar Engineering Helpdesk
If you do roll-back the firmware to v3.11, be sure to use the editor for that firmware version (Morningstar MIDI Editor) and recalibrate the expression pedal.
I am having the same Problem. MC6MKII, software version 12.6 or 12.5 or 12.1 - under calibration of the expression pedal the values do not change. I am trying to calibrate Omniport 2 as expression. Nothing I do works: tried 2 different expression pedals from Mission Engineering, which normally worked flawlessly, and multiple cables. Any updates?
after saving the omniport to Expression, did you restart the controller first before going into calibration page?
I did. But now it is working. I think my error was simply mislabeling Exp1 and Exp2 (really silly), but now it seems to be working.
I had the same issue as OP. I would get heel down to about 19 and toe down about 1020. I stumbled across another post about the DVP4 ( have the volume X mini). and one of the dip switches was set incorrectly (at least for me) as soon as I switched it, the volume sensitivity is much more even. The post i’m referring to is
Maybe that will help @manifold1978
