My expression pedal stops working when I change banks, I can’t see the msg list in the editor like is in the youtube video?.. nothing auto selects and Expression pedal is not a value I can see in anything.

The expression presets are not global and are different in each bank. So, if you want the expression preset to be the same across banks, you’ll need to copy the expression preset and paste it to those banks.
Alternatively, you can click on Copy in the editor and then triple click on paste to paste the preset to all banks.

You can select it in the editor from the right side bar:
