hey there - really been hoping get my resistor ladder aux up and running to free up my omninports. things have been really inconsistent where one switch will jump back and forth between registering as switch 5 vs 6 etc.
it seems like every time i restart my controller and open the menu, a different max value is displayed and the switches are registering as much as 5 off.
not sure how to proceed, right now its not working well enough for use on gigs.
i have the 1% resistors in but they are just from amazon so its possible that they are not 1% and they are just blue
Can you check your TRS cable? Maybe try rotating it and see if anything changes. Usually it is a connection issue where the resistance changes because the plug is rotated in a different way which affects the contact with the omniport jack.
ah i used a ts cable. do you have to use TRS with the ring open (floating) or is a regular ts cable okay? the schematic dosent have anything on the ring but i guess its open
A TS cable is fine. What I was referring to is the TS plug in contact with the Omniport i.e. if there is a bit of tarnish on the plug, it might affect the resistance reading
everything here is brand new, all the wires and connectors are clean. sometimes things are responsive but some times the switches drift by +/- 5 or more. should i try and find different resistors? would really love to get this working
