Relay ports for MC6 Pro through Temple Audio Module

Hey everyone! First time posting, but I have found this forum to be extremely useful. I am looking to do the following, and was wondering if anyone has tried this successfully. I am wanting to run the relay port out into a Temple Audio jack pass through module, then run from the pass through module into my Bad Cat Cub IV footswitch jack, in order to switch between the two channels in the amp. Has anyone had success trying this? If so, was there a specific module that you had to purchase? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @culturetrash , I also use a TA board and have the standard 4jack module. I used to pass through a standard channel switch for my Amp with a standard TR cable and it worked flawless. I’m pretty sure that it also will work with an expression output of the MC6pro!
Just today I applied the dedicated TA MIDI jack since my new Amp has MIDI as well.
You might check the function without the MC6pro first. If this works, the passing through won’t be a matter!

@culturetrash - should work fine. The Temple Audio is just sockets so what goes in comes out. From reading the cub manual I guess you’ll configure one control on Tip and the other control on Ring. Just connect a TRS 1/8” Jack to one of the MC6Pro’s relay ports and into the Temple and on to your amp and you should be sorted. Settings for the required message are here: Omniport Relay Interface Manual

My understanding is this would be fine @culturetrash. I’ve got a Dr. Z Maz 38 NR w/ a Boost. I made a boost pedal (essentially a volume pot w/ a switch and LED) for it and ran it through the TA 4 bay and it works perfectly.

Thank you all for the helpful responses! It sounds like I should be good using the TA 4 bay, which I thankfully already have one of. I will be trying it with a Bad Cat Cub IV, a Port City Anzu, and an Amplified Nation Wonderland Overdrive. I can report back which ones I confirm work, just in case anyone has any specific questions about these particular amps.

Thanks again, everyone!

Good work… very worthwhile posting back your preset screenshots once you’ve got them set up and working, good future reference for others!

One quick question for those of you who have had success with this method, what cables are y’all using out of the MC6 pro? Just any 3.55mm to 1/4 TRS cable? I’m considering having a custom length cable made through BTPA, but wasn’t sure if I needed a special adapter of any kind.

Any old cable will do! As long as the plugs are 1) the right size for the hole and 2) TRS / stereo
