Relay port for switching reverb On and Off

Hello everybody.

I just sold my MC6 MK2 to buy an MC 6pro.
What a difference. Just awesome.
What made me sell my MK2 were several points:

  • The MK2 had the switches not spaced far enough apart.
  • It was a horror with the MK2 to press the D, E, F switches without touching the A, B, D especially in a seated position.
  • And the color LCD screen which I was certain was a useless gadget that I could easily replace with colored switch buttons, which would complicate the thing more than solve it.
  • All these points have been resolved by the MC6 pro.

In short, nothing but happiness :grinning: :sunglasses:  :v:t2:…but that doesn’t make me a genius, and I admit that I have a lot to understand.

Another point that I appreciate is the relay port which allows me to get rid of my victory reverb pedal from my pedalboard and I therefore decided to turn the amp’s reverb on and off with a switch action (double tap or another, I don’t know yet).

problem 1:

So I have preset 1:
press activates and deactivates Boss OD-200 distortion (via midi),
so I programmed a “press” to activate the reverb (as same time with only clean sound) and “double tap” action to turn the reverb off. I’ts fine, it works.

The problem is that if I go from preset 1 with reverb “ON” to preset 2 or another, the reverb will be off, but i have to programm engaged to be disengaged in the "select tip action.

it’s reversed. how to adjust this in such a way that disengaged is indeed disengaged ?

As you can see in the screenshot and in the video, when i press, the reverb is engaged and when i double tap, it’s desengaged; but it’s the opposite way in the editor. I have to select engaged to disengage and disengage to engage.

Here is a link to a video:

Hi,
can you confirm that the reverb is off if you program a preset with nothing but ‘press’ and ‘engage’ for the relay port?

Glad you like the MC6 PRO.

I hope I understood your problem correct - do clarify if not.

The engage / disengage naming for the relay just refers to whether the Tip or Ring is shorted to ground. If the Relay is engaged, that means that Tip / Ring is shorted to ground, and disengaged means that the circuit is open.

So, how your amp reverb responds to this depends on it’s own implementation. It sounds like the reverb will be turned on is the relay is disengaged (circuit is open) and turned off if the relay is engaged (tip shorted to ground).

Yes i can confirm that

OK. That’s What i have thought.
It a matter of polarity or something.
If it exist a way to correct that It’s fine. If Not, there a worse things in life :joy: :sunglasses:

I have same question, but with a Fender Princeton, trying to switch the reverb and tremolo with the relay.
Set to default tip & ring NC it sets rev & trem to off on “boot”, but when trying to switch, setting to NO or engaged or toggle it will not switch but make the amp make a very loud hum/nice.

So is there even a way to make this work? Switching a Princeton reverb & tremolo from the MC6 Pro (relay or omniport)?
