Relay Port Delay

I think this is were I would ask this. Hi all hope y’all are well

I’m currently using the relay switch on the MC8 pro to toggle channels on my Science Mother preamp and while it gets the job done, it will sometimes toggle the change on the controller but not actually switch the channel on the pedal.

This can prove to be a problem when I press the switch on the controller and all my midi pedals change settings but the preamp stays the same. I think it could be that I’m not fully pressing the switch on the controller.

Is there a way to fix this? I can upload a video if that didn’t make sense

If you’re not hearing that little “click” in the relay, then the relay message isn’t being triggered. If other presets are changing, the relay might be programmed incorrectly. Is the footswitch connection for the preamp latching or momentary?

Finally, if you ARE hearing the click and the preamp isn’t changing, it might be on the preamp itself, or it might be your cable.

Hey thanks for the reply! The pedal is looking for a momentary switch. The relay click is happening but the pedal is not consistently changing. It could be a programming error on my end.

What would be the best way to program just a simple switch?

I’d just program a footswitch something like this:

If you want a visual indicator, you might also consider setting Toggle Mode = ON and having the strip two different colors, so you can see it swapping back and forth on each press.
