I’ve started getting an issue with one of my MC6 Pro units. During use the unit seems to stop working with the right-hand screen going white, followed by the left screen and then the centre following further button presses. Rebooting clears it but it keeps happening.
I can’t seem to replicate it, and it seems random. At a rehearsal last night it was happening multiple times, sometimes more than once per song.
what firmware version is the MC6P running? Is there a particular bank where this happens? Perhaps what you can do is share your backup file and I can have a look at it.
Sounds like either a bug or if you’re using some engage preset message types, there might be some sort of loop happening.
Have you got any MIDI in? If so disconnect and does it go away. I have gotten caught many times with MIDI loops. Secondly is it being powered correctly; i.e good USB cable or adequate 9vdc power?
I’ve been talking to James via email (excellent customer service btw!). I’m pretty sure it’s not a MIDI loop but I am suspicious of how much power it’s getting. According to James, with the relays it can use up to 350ma. That board does have a Truetone CS12 and a CS6 and I think both the MC6p were coming off the CS6 so may have been hitting the limit when I kicked the relays in.
I’ve torn down the board now and gone down to a smaller footprint (it was all getting a bit much for pub gigs!). So, once it is all back running I’ll test and report back.
Thanks for the input.
Edit, just added up the power for the new board and it’s 2958ma which is a tad under the 3000ma of the CS12 on its own. Looks like I’ll have add the CS6 back or upgrade the PSU to something like The Gig Rig.
