I have an MC4 on the way and one of the features that caught my eye was the Bluetooth. On my MC6 I use a CME WIDI box so I can send a PC message from an app on my iPad for quick loading of presets etc. Can I connect my iPad directly to the MC4 and send MIDI PC over BT without the CME WIDI box?

Yes, you can do what you’ve asked BUT the WIDI devices are a LOT more robust with BLE MIDI than the MC4 Pro BT. I personally only use the integrated BLE MIDI on our Pro controllers for wireless editing; for gigs, I only use WIDI devices because they’re a lot more reliable.
I guess I will have to experiment and see what works best.. I have our band setlist arranged in MidiPad 2 so I just tap my tablet to change to the next song preset. I’m old so it’s easier for me than scrolling with footswitches lol.
