;TLDR - I have a preset message scroll send/rename use case that requires more than 32 midi slots per preset and I have 2 feature requests that would help (if they are possible).
My Use Case:
Creating banks for controlling algorithms on the Eventide H90. I want to use the MC6-Pro as my primary information and H90 control source. I use preset message scroll send/rename pairs for various settings (e.g. Diatonic Algo - Key and Scale). This has spoiled me and I want to further use preset rename more often than not (it is really, really nice to have the renamed info on the MC6 Pro screen). Controlling the H90 algo settings, while easily seeing the information I want from the name changes on the MC6 Pro screen, or remember a scroll number & what it means, or trying to look at the H90 is a great benefit to me. Further expansion of this capability would be awesome.
My Use Case Limitation Issue:
There are 23 H90 diatonic pitch A/B intervals (I think its 23, not at the H90 ATM). Using a single preset message scroll for send/rename pairs for all the intervals isn’t possible because it requires 47 msg’s (23 intervals X 2 msg’s + 1 preset message scroll control message). 47 > 32 msg’s per preset.
There are alternative methods (scroll counters) to handle the 23 intervals, but they do not provide the name changes using one preset on the H90.

I have the following 2 very similar feature request ideas:
1. The “I’m dreaming” Feature Request (you have to ask for what you want… right?):
msg Type: Multi Action (preset message scroll or scroll counter)
msg Description: Combine above similar feature requests into a single multi action msg type.
msg Functions:
- Action - Send: via cc/pc input value (preset message scroll) or scroll counter value with increment, decrement, reset, etc.(possibly other actions)
- Action - Rename: via input value (preset message scroll) or scroll counter placeholder
- Action - Colors: via msg input picker for Background, Text, and LED Colors pos1/2 and shift (preset message scroll) or scroll counter.
Pros:
- Scroll counters could be used for 0-127 iterations of control/rename/color with one msg on a preset.
- Preset message scroll could be upped to 31 msg send/renames + the 1 preset message scroll control message. 32 if preset message scroll defaults to 1 for increment when Message Scroll is on.
Cons:
- Likely impossible or super complex firmware/editor redesign.
- For scroll counter: Color change would likely require even more effort than name change. Seems it would be much more complex for 0-127 potential iterations of 3 preset color choices for 3 preset positions.
2. The “Might be realistic” feature request for Preset Message Scroll only:
This is the same as the “I’m Dreaming” Feature Request without any of the scroll counter capability. The current MC6 Pro msg code already functions for the individual send/rename/color change msg types. Maybe the existing code could be leveraged for the multi action msg type to expand capabilities of Preset Message Scroll.
I’m not personally hung up on the color change inclusion, but it would be cool. The send/rename Preset Message Scroll is the meat-and-potatoes of my requests. This probably isn’t the best idea out there and may not be possible. Something similar would certainly help simplify things for my use case(s). Maybe there is already something in the works to handle this.
