So i went for the 12x tip ring splitter cables with my purchase… but upon setting up the first few devices on my pedal board quickly realised all those splitters take up a lot of space, especially for boards where real estate is tight with no storage area underneath.
Either gonna need a new board where i can route & secure things underneath to hide all the cabling - or properly wire all the splits up to be as tight & direct as possible.
I see the Squareplug options with the right-angle plug and the split y plug and people wiring them up well. Firstly, are there any even smaller connector options for diy? I see tourgear designs seems to have the smallest footprint ts>trs options, but then no custom lengths…
Secondly, anyone know if these Squareplugs will be compatible with lava Mini-ELC being soldered in there? as in, are they easy fitting two of them in there? Seems pretty tight. but i have an excess amount of Mini-ELC left over from previous builds, so one less thing to worry about if it works.
gotta stop using these bulking trs splitters and wire things up properly, would really like to confirm from someone in the know:
Are the squareplug flat trs options still the lowest profile for an ml10x wireup? ie anything better?
whats the diff between the Squareplug SP550-S and the SP650-S? seems to be cable diameter, anyone know which is best for the ML10x and someone using 4mm cable ie. canare gs4 or lava mini-elc
Also, 3) do the morningstar dual straight & right angle solderless plugs support the lava mini-elc cable?
I also went from the y splitter from morningstar to something else. I find that its hard/ impossible to cramp two mono cables in one square plug trs jack. There is a specific plug for this, the sps7. I am happy with this, but it is nog very flat.
Yea I would just buck up and order some Y cables that you need from Alphatone. There’s other’s out there as well that may even be cheaper. Just find enough to have on hand.
