I’m using my MC6 MkII to control my Line 6 Helix Stomp. I have one preset assigned to scroll through different CC values to adjust the Poly Capo. MSG1 is +1, MSG2 is +2, etc. MSG6 is -1 and MSG7 is -2. However, when I used the %G placeholder, MSG7 shows as 0, not 7.
The %G placeholder shows the next message that it will be sending, and the index starts from 0. So if the last message in the preset message scroll is Msg7, then it will show 0 when Msg7 is sent. It will show 7 when Msg6 is sent.
You can add a dummy messages at Msg1, then it will offset everything by +1 so your first message will show 1 instead of 0.
James, thanks for your response to this. I believe your definition of the placeholder is different from what was originally used, and the change was after firmware update 3.13. Here’s what stated in the on-line manual (cut & paste):
“How do I tell which message I am currently at?
Using the Message Index placeholder
In your Preset Short Name, you can use a %G placeholder to indicate on the Short Name which message the pointer is currently at. For example, in the picture below, the Short Name Message %G will be displayed on the controller as Message 1 if the pointer is currently at 1.”
This is the way I programmed all my message scroll presets. I don’t see the logic to the new system. There is no Msc0, so why would you want to see a zero in the %G ? Please, please, please, put it back to the old way. Thanks.
