So I want one switch to turn on and off some dip switches on the Onward pedal(reverse and half speed to start). What would be the best way to accomplish this?
I am really trying to squeeze as much out of one switch because these are going to be universal across all banks to work with my aux switch. Always amazed whats possible.
Hi,
if you want to make use of the different action types, note that âpressâ doesnât work well with âlong pressâ and âdouble tapâ.
Iâd go with âreleaseâ, âlong pressâ and âdouble tapâ.
Getting toggles to work would be quite complicated, when using multiple action types.
However you could programm different action types combined with âengage presetâ messages, which point to seperate presets in âtoggle modeâ, stored in any bank.
For example:
Aux switch:
âlong pressâ / âengage presetâ A bank 60 âaction pressâ
âdouble tapâ / âengage presetâ B bank 60 âaction pressâ
Preset A Bank 60 âtoggle modeâ ON:
âpressâ / CC 1 Value 127 / pos1
âpressâ / CC 1 Value 0 / pos2
Preset B Bank 60 âtoggle modeâ ON:
âpressâ / CC 2 Value 127 / pos1
âpressâ / CC 2 Value 0 / pos2
That way it would be possible to toggle at least three different parameters independently with just one footswitch.
I use press with toggle mode and double tap to get three separate functions from one switch.
Press alternates from pos1 and pos2. Double tap enters shift.
Sorry it took so long! I am controlling Red Panda and Meris pedals this way and it works great.
I first program my bank - on enter- to toggle the needed presets to the shift state. This is important because shift is the off position.
Again this step is part of the bank, not the preset and not in the picture.
Here is preset A. The bank has two pages.
Msg1-Press/PC to select the preset/pos both
Msg2-Press/CC to turn the pedal on/pos both
Msg-3&4-Press/CCâs for toggled altered sounds/pos1
(This can also be a PC for a different patch or effect.)
Msg5-Press/Toggle Preset/pos both
Msg6-Double Tap/CC to turn the pedal off/pos both
Msg7-Double Tap/Set Toggle/Shift(off)/pos both
(Message 7 toggles any active preset to off. Preset C & I do not apply here)
Msg8-Press/Set toggle/Disengage toggle/pos shift(This message returns to pos1. Since its preset A, I only want this message to affect button A)
Msg9-Press/Set Toggle/Shift/pos shift
(This message turns any other preset âoffâ and switches it to the shift state if I engage preset A)
Msg10-Press/pos shift
(PC to choose preset after shift "off"state)
Msg11-Press/pos shift
(CC to turn pedal on after shift âoffâ state)
Thatâs it! Iâm not sure if messages are redundant or unnecessary but everything works.
By the way, I have no trouble combining press and double tap. Substitute release if it works better for you.
Hi, I have a problem connecting my Onward to the MC6 Pro so I was wondering how you had yours connected. I use a TRS (in CBA Onward) to 2 TS (Ring and Tip) cable . The Ring is plugged in one of MC6Pro omniports, the TS Tip floats out. I chose the TRS Ring option in the omniport setting of the MC6Pro. Iâve tried to send a PC message on the channel I set on the MC6PRo by turning on the Onward with both switches on. But no reaction so far on the Onward. Anyone has an idea of what could go wrong? Thanks!
