One button to do several things

I have a Cornerstone Coliseum overdrive pedal that has a Klon side and a Blues Breaker side. Both sides can be controlled independently with my MC6 pro through my ML5. I am wanting to save some space and be able to set up one button to control both sides of the pedal. I am wanting to be able to click once to turn on and off the Klon side and then double click to turn on/off the Blues Breaker side. Is this doable? Also, how would I be able to set up the screen for that button to indicate what I have turned on?

In principle it is possible to control two toggles with a single button, but it’s not that straight forward.
You can’t toggle both fx independently with just two different actions.
If you use the blues braker exclusively as a boost for the klon, you could use the ‘shift’ feature to do so.
If you want to be able to toggle both sides independently, and have a visual indicator of what is currently active, I can think of two possible setups. Each comes with down and upsides.

  1. You’d have two use (at least) four different action types to control on/off for both pedals.
    for example:
    release > both off
    double tap > A on, B off
    long press > A off, B on
double long press > both on

If you pair those actions with a ‘rename preset’ message you can have a visual indicator which combination is currently active.
Upside is that you’ll have instant acces to every possible state.
Downside is that the action types available are difficult to handle and execute correctly in a live situation.

  1. Use the ‘message scroll’ feature to do the same thing.
Upside is, that it would be easier to handle because you can go to each possible configuration by simply pressing multiple times.
Downside would be, that you’ll probably get audible changes while scrolling. And you have to remember how many taps are needed to get from one combination to another.

Sorry I’m just now seeing this. Thank you for your response. I find that I do use the blues breaker only as a boost for the klon. How would I set that up using the shift function? Also with having the pedal indicate what I’m using visually?

Hi, here is an example of a preset that switches channels and adds a solo boost on top, using shift. the boost is activated by a long press:

This is on preset E. Change the ‘set toggle’ message accordingly.
Obviously the CC messages and midi channel have to be changed, too.

Would be good to know what exactly you need the preset to do.
