I just bought a NU-X Zeus Jr. and when I use one of the 500 mA outputs the MC8 Pro won’t start up. It tries but doesn’t work. Did I get a lemon Zeus Jr. or is it just a piece of junk? I probably should have gone with the 1Spot Pro like I had planned.
Has anyone had any luck with one?
Remember that the MC8 Pro requires a MINIMUM of 500mA. There’s a chance the NU-X isn’t actually providing this minimum. In addition, 500mA isn’t enough if you’re using relay ports and/or the screen brightness is set higher than 70% And if you have devices connected to the MIDI Host port, these may also be drawing current.
Yeah, good point, Maddcow. I’m going to try a current doubler cable. My other power supply, which is a Truetone, seems to power the MC8 Pro just fine with its 500mA output. I can probably just use that and run my other semi-high draw pedals off the NUX. Truetone advertises something to the effect that if a device draws more amps, it will take it from other channels somehow.
Just wanted to add that with the current doubler cable, the NUX Zeus Jr. seems to work fine powering the MC8 Pro.
