No Audio - even without loops

Just got my ML10X. No audio. Here is my setup:

  • Only in and out connected - no loops yet.
  • The cable in the input (black) from my guitar works when I plug it directly into the amp.
  • The cable in the output (red) works when I plug it directly into the guitar.
  • Power works, also when I am not connected via USB. Power also works when plugging it into my BigSkyMX
  • The web editor works when connecting USB
  • In the web editor, i only added output tip after input tip - to keep it simple.

Yet I get no audio from the guitar. When I plug in the USB, I get a bit of noise. If I add a loop, using high gain distortion, that noise increases. But no guitar!

What do I do?

What’s the current rating for the power outlet you’re using for the ML10X?

Try this:

  1. Set up a preset like this: Input Tip >> A Tip >> Output Tip

Connect your guitar to Input, Amp to Send A. Do you get any sound?
Then connect your guitar to Return A and amp to Output. Check sound again.

Let me know how the above goes.

Fascinating idea! It works to connecting guitar to Return A - and the amp to the output.
However Guitar to In and amp to A send does not work.

I use Cioks for power - 9v up to 660 mA. It works for my Strymon Big Sky MX.

This is a step forward. Thank you so much. What is next?

If you are inclined to, you can remove the backplate and then just visually check that the boards are connected properly i.e. nothing has come loose. Since it is the Input that might not be working, I’m suspecting that this might have happened, where the board tilted out slightly such that the connectors might be loose:
