NEWBIE Question -> Want a preset to go to a page for a group of subset preset functions

I want to be able to label a button so it changes to a page that is a list of related presets. So i understand that the only way an MC6 controller can send commands to itself, like change bank or page is to have the command sent to the midi in (channel 1) of the controller. Is it possible to have a usb cable that connects the host to the client ports provide this function? Is it possible in another way?

Thanks

Hi,
that’s not nessecary.
The MC has dedicated commands for stuff like this.
Click on ‘Type’ and scroll down until you find ‘Device’

I see the commands, but unless the MC6 midi out is connected to MC6 midi in they will not work. I previously avoided a loop on the din out because I don’t want to deal with any downstream device commands looping back, or always have to have every device on but maybe that’s where I’m missing the basic concept. Since I don’t use USB, I thought I’d ask about it.

That’s incorrect. Everything listed under ‘Device’ are internal messages. There is no need to loop the MC’s in and outputs.
Did you disconnect from the editor when testing this?
Bank jumps etc. aren’t working if the controller is connected to the editor.

doh! Holly shiznit that’s a lot of types. I was using CC.
Thanks @GuitarWolf

Newbie advice…
Find an excuse to try as many functions as possible…
I used to name them ‘Test X, Y or Z’
You don’t know, what you don’t know…
Understanding possibilities outside your expectations will give rise to bigger ideas.
FX have always been about experimentation and happy accidents, this is a whole nuther level
