Hi all, I promise I’ve searched…
New to using MIDI and got my MC3 set up with a couple of Flower Pedals on my board but can’t figure out how to save presets on my Bigsby. The Bigsby manual says “to save these settings to Slot 1 - send the PC message 11” and then “To recall any of the presets 1-10 send the according PC messages 1-10” but I guess I don’t understand how to send the PC message. Obviously it doesn’t just mean put a PC message in the editor and hit “save preset” because that’s what I did. Do I need to assign a button to send a certain PC message?
If you can’t tell I’m an analog man trying to learn a digital language, you patience is appreciated!
1st in the editor setup a bank with a preset to press- PC message 11. Then adjust your pedal. Then press the preset knob, this will save your settings to the 1st slot. Then whenever you want to recall this slot setup a press - PC 1 message. I think this is right, good luck
Oh i forgot repeat for each slot, just change the slot and PC numbers
Thank you. I think I’m doing what you’re describing but I’m obviously not doing it correctly. I setup a bank, and on Preset A I setup Press and PC message 11. Then on preset B I setup Press and PC message 1. What am I missing?
That should do it , Im no familiar with that pedal, but i read the manual. The only other thing might be a midi channel issue. Wish i could help more. If you get stuck maybe one of the admins will help. Good luck
Thanks, but that’s not working for me. I thought of the MIDI channel issue so I did a factory reset on the pedal to make sure it was on channel 1 but no luck.
If you know how to use the midi monitor it will let you know what messages are being sent on which channel
Just a hunch,
the MC counts pc messages starting at 0. Some manufacturers start counting at 1. Maybe the pc you need to send to save a preset is actually pc 10.
The pc to recall slot 1 would be pc 0.
Excellent thought, just tried that and no joy.
Hmm, I think that I’ve been correct with my assumptipn, but it wouldn’t matter anyway. You would just skip the first slot. Pc11 saves to slot 2 and Pc1 recalls slot 2.
It’s either an issue with your programming of the MC preset (a screenshot would be helpful) or it is the physical connection.
I just woke up and had a thought
Connect the BIGSBY Pedal to the MIDI OUT of your controller using a standard MIDI cable and the 3.5 mm TRS to 5 pin DIN
MIDI adapter (Type B) included with the BIGSBY Pedal.
It could be the 5 pin DIN on the MC3 is not Type B
If you use the omni port they can be configured for type B
I would try this

That’s a good idea, thank you. I had to leave town for a couple of days but I’ll try it when I’m back next week.
Sorry for the long delay, this was it! And now I know the difference between type A midi and type B.
