New ML10X and button presses do double input

Good day! Just got my ML10X which I love. The only issue is that all the buttons are very easily taking one press as a double input. For example when scrolling presets, it would commonly skip one preset completely.

It is exactly the same issue that I found a post already where a Morningstar employee(?) - james posted “Yes, the double press is an issue (sorry about that) - it’s a software problem. We’re working on fixing it in the next update.”

I updated to the latest non-beta firmware and the issue persists.

Any updates or others encountering this problem? I truly hope it is a software bug and not hardware issue (such as a contact problem with the buttons).

Here is a link to the old forum post about the exact same issue where many have had it also:

Thank you for your help.

@james Any support from you guys? You have acknowledged the issue as software bug that would be fixed in future updates, but that was 1 year ago. Could you please help where we are at with the fix. I really would not like to return this product if the problem can be fixed in another way. Thank you.

We released an updated v1.2 beta firmware last week that should fix this issue. We’re working on doing an official release this coming week. If you do give the beta firmware a go, let me know how it works for you.

Thank you for your reply. I updated to the beta FW and it seems better. The menus do not take double input anymore, but scrolling presets do though. I think it all comes down to the fact that you can hold the button down to scroll faster (starts from skipping 1 and then goes faster), but there should be a small delay before it takes a single press as a “holding down”. That should probably fix everything once and for all.

We can further increase the debounce timing when scrolling through presets, or maybe add a user-assignable setting. Let me see what works best. We’ll try to release this firmware by the end of this week.

Thank you. You are doing great work and the product is genius!
