Hey all! Built a new small board to save lugging around my giant board with an mc8 and pbc10. Im wondering if anyone is using a MC6pro with an HX Effects, and if so, how you are using it. I want to use for small club gigs with my band and would need about 30 songs worth of presets. Hx has 32 with 4 snapshots each. Should I use the hx to run setlist and mc6 for instant access to things, or use the mc6 to run setlist and recall hx snaps? Thanks in advance and would love to know how you guys would do this.
John
Since it’s possible / likely that you’d use some of the HX Effects presets for multiple songs, I feel like it makes more sense to have a song setlist controlled by the MC6 Pro, where each bank represents a song and pulls up whatever HX Effects presets make sense for that song. For example, Bank 1 on your MC6 Pro might be a song, with the different buttons set for things like “intro”, “chorus”, “verse”, “solo”, etc. When you press those, it would load whatever HX Effects preset + snapshot was required.
Quick note on the the way the HX effects presets work. It actually has 128, organized into banks of four. In MIDI, you access them in order from 0 - 127, where Bank 1 Preset A = PC#0, Bank 1 Preset B = PC#1, Bank 2 Preset A = PC#4, etc.
Beyond that, each individual Preset has 4 different “snapshots,” which don’t change the loaded effects but might change settings like engage/bypass or knob settings for each effect. Those are called up over MIDI via a CC#69 command, where Snapshots 1-4 correspond to CC values 0 to 3.
