What it does is it uses data from the MIDI dictionary and generates an interface for that selected device. You can then set each parameter (or disable them) and then save it as a preset in the app (you need to be logged in).
If you have a USB MIDI interface connected (or a Morningstar MIDI controller to act as an interface), the app can transmit MIDI out as you adjust the parameters.
You can then load a preset for a device and then click on “Send All”, which basically sends all the active CC parameters with values based on what you have in that preset. This will set up the parameters in your MIDI device, and then if your device allows, you can just save it as a preset in your device.

Data for some devices will need to be cleaned up - for example, there are duplicate CC numbers in the Elektron Digitone Keys, which leads to this parameter being generated (these 3 parameters have CC#13 value 0-127). Just let us know if any device needs fixing and we’ll update them.
I would love a randomize option, and to be able to include/exclude parameters in the randomize. With wild stuff like chase bliss (dip switches included!) random rolling gives you some nice surprises!
I wish I had been more carefull with the random switch. For the device editor changed generalsettings in my Strymon Pedals (Iridium, BigSky MX, Volante). It was most irritating on the Volante, as it switched ON the “Killdry”. So all I heard was only the Effect-Signal, but none of the Dry signal. It took me while to find out. So playing around with the random button is something to be aware off, it does change general settings on Strymon Pedals (at least it did on the Volante). And as there are indeed quite a few general settings which one might have made in the course of time, you ought to be careful with the “random switch”, as it might change those settings.
So, make sure you exclude the parameters you do not want to be changed: ie Midi-Channel, Midi through or on the Iridium CAB Settings or on the BigSky the Spillover, etc etc etc
Does the roadmap for the editor include a way to save presets for software plugins? Maybe allow the user to create a custom interface and map the buttons/knobs/faders in the interface to specific parameters in the plugin and recall those settings, similar to hardware devices? I think this would be a useful feature to add at some point. Thoughts?

What about devices not in the midi dictionary, is there a way to add your own? ie tc2290p is not in there. (Been a bit since I’ve really used this).
Can this work if everything is just connected to the 5 pin midi out of the mc and not usb host?
Will definitely have to check this out. I applaud you guys for thinking of a way to consolidate editing. The task of different midi pedals and different editors and swapping usb cables makes it cumbersome. A way to consolidate this into one area is very much welcome.
this is an absolute life saving game changer all around i love the fact i get to see my values on the older version mako d1 with no screen. Still in general to get to see all my values all at once even for the tonex. this is a big W. Ty. will be working with this extensively. Was wondering if you can add data in real time going back into the app in case we turn a physical knob it would interact with the changes. Either way this is an excellent start with this app
That would only be possible with stuff that explicitly sends MIDI feedback when it gets updated physically. I think Meris, Strymon, and some of the big Boss pedals do that, but most pedals are a one-way street
Thanks for the feedback! The issue here is that there are CC values which sets the device settings as well, such as MIDI Clock On/Off. Clicking on Randomize will randomize all parameters and Send All will send every parameter value.
What we have done is to introduce Groups, which allows you to group parameters on a device level, and also to randomize and send MIDI on a group level
As Jason mentioned, not all devices are programmed to send data when parameter changes. Even if they do, they are very likely “proprietary” and not documented, and it is not possible for us to implement a custom function for each device to parse the values sent by different devices.
Perhaps what we can do is implement an interface and documentation for other manufacturers to implement if they want, so their device can work with this app. That would be a more sustainable way of doing this.
Very cool concept, but I suspect I am definitely doing something wrong. I created a setting for my chase bliss mood v2 set the midi channel to 9 and selected the mc8 session 1 and when I sent the settings nothing happened. Do I need to be plugged directly into the mood or can the settings be sent through the mc8?

I made a post about this yesterday but thought I would ask here as well. I have a Jackson bloom that I haven’t been able to get cc messages to work with my mc8 and I happened to test sending some commands with the preset manager and they worked. Same cc messages and same midi channel. I’m sure it’s user error on my part somehow but was wondering if you had any thoughts on where the issue is?
