Would it be possible—or is it currently possible—to configure the LCD screens as follows?
Screen 1: Instead of the “Bank number,” to display a “Bank name” (and hide/remove the “Page number”).
Screen 2: Default to “Bank name,” but allow me to enter something else—an additional piece of information (Preset description)—which is why I need to rename the “Page number” field to “Bank name.”
Screen 3: A section reserved for the “Preset long name” or “Bank description,” which could be used for other text like a additional Information.Of course, nothing stops you from using the “Bank description” or “preset long name” to display the information you want to see on the screen—even if it means “cheating” a little by using an option not originally intended for that purpose.
Screen 4: Reserved for expression pedal data and “BPM” information.
I used Photoshop to edit an image and lay out the information exactly how I would like it to appear.

The second screen reminds me of the additional action required to achieve the desired result—specifically, a “press” or “release” action.
The third screen is the same as the second.
And finally, the fourth screen remains unchanged.
However, why not display both expression pedals at once? (I have two myself, though I realize displaying four would be complicated.)
My thought is that the amount of time and effort to recode everything in order to service a niche request - with significant impact on other functionalities and the existing setups of other users - would make this unfeasible. Morningstar’s controllers don’t run complex operating systems designed for GUI customisation; the equipment is designed to be extremely efficient and effective for MIDI control. I’d love to customise a lot of things but would also suggest there are considerably practical limitations as to why this simply wouldn’t be possible.

Well, the inability to know what patch you are selecting makes that impossible.
I was so excited when I bought this pedal, but the software is unfortunately extremely rigid and poorly thought out. Oh, I’ve been writing programs professionally for well over 40 years, including a bunch of real-time software.
About half the screen is totally wasted and there’s no way to fix that.
Because you have to save on each page before going to the next, it’s trivial to destroy your work.
In particular, the fact that you have to memorize a NUMBER and know in your head what patch it is makes all the “scrolling features” utterly useless.
As soon as someone comes up with a comparable pedal with good software, I’ll sell this one and never look back.
I would suggest to the team that they’d be a lot better off if they open sourced the software.
