Are there any special steps to move my MC6 bank/preset setup to my MC8 ?

You can’t do that at the moment using a data dump. In the v3.9 beta firmware, you can do that (upload a MC8 data file to the MC6). You could just update both devices to the beta firmware first to do the transfer and then downgrade to the stable firmware.
if not, you could connect both devices to the computer, open up 2 windows of the web editor and connect both devices, and then copy and paste presets from one editor to the other
