Mounting the ML5 underneath a pedalboard (and how to access the buttons and see LED status)

How do people securely mount the ML5 underneath their pedalboard? Is there anything better than Dual Lock?

Ideally I’d like to have the buttons accessible:

  • Could mount it face up with buttons/sockets sticking out beyond the back of the pedal board
  • Could mount is face down and guess there the buttons are and not have feedback as to which loop(s) were enabled.

you can do it with zip ties on the bottom cuz anything else always falls off. the buttons fit between the top rows of a pedaltrain

Both the ML5 and ML10X are light weight enough to attach with Velcro (other manufacturers are available!). Depending on the model of Pedaltrain, there’s enough space under the back to install the either ML’s. The spacing and alignment of the ML5 is sufficient that if it’s mounted top up, the buttons are visible and accessible through the slats. You’d need to check in person as each varies slightly. I always mounted top facing down so I could flip the board over should I need to. There aren’t many times, if any, I’ve need to access or programme the unit during a live scenario.

The cables going into and out of the ML’s will need to be short, like squareplugs or right angle to fit, but there’s definitely space.
