Hi all,
I installed Morningstar Desktop Editor 3.13 on my iMac but the app is unusable: the main window opens but remains completely transparent (I can see the desktop through the window) and I cannot interact with the UI. The app icon appears in the Dock but the window is empty/transparent.
System details:
Model: iMac Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017
macOS: 13.7.8 (22H730)
CPU: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 quad-core
GPU: Radeon Pro 560 4 GB
RAM: 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Disk: SSD
Morningstar version: Desktop Editor 3.13
What happens:
After installation I launch the app and the window opens but is transparent (no buttons, menus or content visible).
The app seems running (Dock icon) but it is not usable.
Questions / requests:
Has anyone experienced the same issue on macOS Ventura / 13.7.x or with a similar hardware configuration?
Is there a known compatibility issue with version 3.13?
I attach screenshots of the transparent window and the “About This Mac” panel. Thanks in advance for any help — I hope this is fixable!
Have you tried restarting your Mac? Also, I highly recommend that you use the browser version of the editor (using Chrome or Brave) and install it as a web app so that it can also be used offline. The browser version will ALWAYS be updated whenever you are online, unlike the standalone editor you are running which is infrequently updated. Here’s the link to the online editor: https://editor.morningstar.io/
Everything works perfectly through Chrome. Various restarts and uninstallations don’t work. I wanted to know if the desktop app will also be fixed since it’s still useful, and if you have any solutions to solve the problem.
