Hi everyone,
(I am not sure if this is the right place for this post).
I plan to mod my golden reverberator to accept the relais outputs of the mc6 pro.
The foot switches of the uafx are just momentary normally open switches so just hard wiring a relais output in parallel should be able to activate the switches remotely.
My idea is to place a 3.5mm stereo jack at the bottom of the pedal so it can connect to the mc6 pro.
I will make a larger post here describing the mod and whether it works reliably.
But to start: is there anything fundamentally wrong with my idea?
Hello, welcome! Sounds ok - one relay port on the MC will let you control tip and/or ring and/or tip+ring. And you can momentarily close, and engage and disengage from the MC.
Thanks! Looks like it is doing exactly the right thing. I will start modding after Christmas and will make a post on how it goes
Hopefully someone else will find it useful.
I just wanted to add another option for you here. Adding secondary jacks is the simplest thing you could do.
If you want a little more control I would highly suggest the Oscillator Devices Goblin to give you more control over the unit. I’ve installed two of these in my Golden and Starlight. It’s definitely a more difficult install though as opposed to just adding a jack.
Tap Tempo functionality would likely end up being essentially the same. However, the one big thing you’ll be able to do here you wouldn’t with a simple jack is actually be able to send “engage” and “bypass” commands as opposed to just a toggle. So if you’ve got preset songs you’re moving around using the “engage” command will ensure you’re not accidentally turning the pedal off if it’s already on and so on.
Great devices and I’ve had amazing experience with Uwe (the owner) in helping bounce off ideas. He’s a great dude. Big fan of his products.
Hi, thanks for the advice. Those devices really look cool.
For my case just adding the remote toggle is fine. But true you have to make sure that you start in the right position when switching presets.
I only connected the tip for on off and it works great. Using the ring for the preset switch on the golden or tap tempo on other devices should work equally well.
So I can report: The super simple 1€ mod works great.
Yes it works very well via the relais ports. I just have it set up as a remote on/off at the moment because the golden reverb is in the third row of pedals on my board. So it is hard to reach and it’s just more comfortable having the switch in the front row.
