Ml10x with external phase inverter

Hello!

I want to use a dry/wet setup where one amp is always distorted (dry) with no effects at all and the other one is used for clean/effects and various drive pedals. I only want to turn on the distorted amp when I engage a drive pedal on my wet amp using the ml10x and mc6 pro. I want it to be muted when I am not using any drive pedal and only clean and effects from the wet amp. Can you guys please help me figure this out? if there are any phasing issues while routing this how can I use an external phase inverter to fix it? I have a lehle little dual ii I hope it works with the set up I have in mind. Looking forward to your replies!

Hi,

in your scenario phasing shouldn’t be an issue at all, especially if you run the wet side kill dry.

I’d place the Lehle in front of the ML to split the guitar signal and run the signal path in stereo. That way you could make use of the Lehle’s phase switch if needed at all.

Thanks for your reply!

I dont plan to use the effects in dry kill at all.

can you explain putting the lehle in front a bit more

So it’s not exactly a dry / wet, at least not one that is going 100% dry / 100% wet. Instead, you’re basically treating your dry amp as a (distorted) dry boost straight into the room rather than into your signal chain. Neat.

GuitarWolf’s strategy would work, but I have a variation to consider. First, run mono/TS into the ML10X with input Split turned on. That means the “Input Ring” path in the ML10X editor will mirror the signal coming in on the Input Tip (from your instrument). Connect the Input Ring direct to the Output Ring and send that out to the dry amp.

Have the Lehle after the ML10X, with A being your “wet”/Tip path and B being your “dry”/Ring path. Leave it always ON for both sides. It’s basically there to do a phase invert if needed.

If you’re using one of our MIDI controllers, the ML10X message type also has the Outputs as loops that you can engage/bypass. Bypass the outputs and no signal comes through. You can do this via CC with other controllers as well.

Hey Jason! yes thats precisely what I am trying to do. I will give this a shot and get back to you. Thanks for the help!
