James,
Would it be possible for the MC6 Pro to send midi tap-tempo from an Omniport? I know Disaster Area makes a Smart Clock that can convert midi-clock to tap tempo for non-midi clock pedals but I’m wondering if the MC6 Pro unit is capable of doing this as well with a firmware update?
This would be awesome. Send a configurable CC on every beat for n beats.
This is possible using the Relay Ports. It will send 8 pulses to sync up your non-MIDI pedal to the MIDI Clock that is being sent from your MC6 PRO. See below.
If you want to do the same with Omniports, you will need to attach the Omniport Relay Interface, which we have now discontinued with the introduction of MC6 PRO that essentially has 2 of them built in.
This is super cool and I’m getting it to work yeah!!!
I’ll need to tweak my external aux switch since it can only currently be assigned to midi clock tap which doesn’t appear to reinitiate the relay sync tap. Maybe an idea for the future?
For now I might just assign a MC6 Pro switch to midi clock tap and relay tap when I want to manually tap a time (rare since I mostly program all my patches to specific songs).
The relay feature is great but this would be useful for pedals that don’t have a tap in but respond to midi tap on some cc.
You can have both MIDI Clock Tap and CC Tap messages on the same switch, so when you tap the switch both will be synced.
That should work in scenarios where MC* is the master clock.
But the proposed solution would allow this to work in scenarios where MC* is slaved as well.
