MIDI issue with Jackson Audio New Wave

Hey Morningstar maniacs

I have midi troubles with the New Wave.

  1. When I set the midi channel (in my case channel 9) the pedal follows my midi commands (on/off, presets, …). But then somehow I can’t change the mode or shape manually on the pedal by pushing the knobs. It just reacts to midi commands. So making changes on the pedal by hand only works when it doesn’t follow midi commands.

  2. When I unplug the power from the pedal it doesn’t react to midi commands anymore. Only if I set the midi channel once more it follows my commands again. So it seems like I always have to set the midi channel to make it work with midi again.

Here is what I already did/tried:

  • Swapping the midi cable that goes to the New Wave.
  • Using a port of my midi box instead of the MC8s omniport.
  • Changing the Omniports mode.
  • Creating a new bank on the MC8 with single commands for only the New Wave.
  • Changing the midi channel on the New Wave.
  • Power on the Zuma is set to 18V by the way.

I love the pedals huge sounds. It’s a beast of a modulation pedal. But in my case midi really has to work.
Thank you so much in advance!!

Take care and all the best from Switzerland
Karl

I think I saw your post in the FB group where Jackson Audio replied with a firmware update. Did that resolve your issue?

I had the exact same midi problem described, the firmware update resolved the issue. I found the instructions and software on the Pedalboards of Doom facebook group.

For anyone else with the same issue, here is the link I used.
